Ever heard the expression, “Take a leap of faith”? It is what many people say or are told when they are about to undertake a risky venture. Faith is a strong conviction of possible events which will align in our favour and we earnestly look forward to that expected end.
Faith is held in very high esteem by religious people: it is their guiding light in this dark and dreary world. Faith is the cool hand that holds ours when we are at a crossroads. Faith is that still, small, and usually gently urging voice that spurs us on when we are at the end of our proverbial rope. When we overcome eventually, some attribution goes to faith and grace. Even unbelievers have faith, just not in a power higher than themselves. Their faith is in their abilities and they usually attribute their success or failure to luck.
In our world today, where physical situations like the economy and poor choices make us feel that the world is collapsing upon us, where positivity is fading faster than the morning mist, profound faith in self, in a higher being, or a trusted circle is what keeps one firmly rooted in the soil of life. Profound faith is rooted in the knowledge that whom we trust or believe to come through for us will do so without holding anything back. Profound faith is intense. Profound faith is absolute. When you throw a child into the air, they laugh because they know that you will catch them. A child holds your hand because they know that you have their back. Profound faith is childlike. Profound faith is unshaken in the face of obstacles.
We don’t come by faith easily. It begins with knowledge and a strong conviction in something greater than ourselves, then in ourselves as being capable of achieving with the help of the greater entity. When challenges come (because of a choice made or not made), we can face them and overcome them, and that builds us into better and more formidable beings capable of taking on bigger challenging bulls by the horns no matter how thick they are.
Profound faith is intense. Profound faith comes with wisdom. Have profound faith.
