Financial engineering and extortion
We make it by patronage and connections

Each rainy season our capital overflows

Our debt burden is beyond imagination
Our economy faces dollarization
Our industries are in a deplorable situation

Our consumption is fed by importation
Our political parties try by elections
Our foreign lords dictate to our administration

The youth wallow in frustration
They queue up at foreign embassies
Looking for new destinations

The V8s and Tundras are carrying us to our destination
Our hope needs fortification
We are scared of our political elite and their consumption
For we are building the nation

We spend 24/7 at Atwia praying
We consult the shrines and malllams
To find out why our prosperity is delaying
For we are building the nation

Our ancestors and gods quaff generous potations
They have drunk themselves into stupor and hibernation
They are unable to point us in the right direction
And so we continue to build the nation
